BDPA Baton Rouge student members Travis Lee and Ericka Plant were each awarded $1,389 in scholarship funding from Oracle Corporation to pursue degrees in the fields of science and technology. There were two presentations of the scholarship in Baton Rouge.
The original presentation was made during a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in Baton Rouge. The dais for this presentation was shared by Baton Rouge mayor-president Kip Holden.
The second presentation was at Scotlandville Magnet High School ... the school attended by both Travis and Ericka. Chapter president Randy Powe made this presentation ... which included the scholarship checks ... during a Black heritage celebration hosted by the student body.
