Progress Energy Corporate Grant Program

The Progress Energy Corporate Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations that benefit company communities in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina where Progress Energy employees and customers live and work.

Most corporate grants focus on education, economic development, and the environment, although requests for other important community issues are considered. Grants, which range from $200 to $10,000, support programs that are relatively small in scope and serve a single community or a few counties. (Progress Energy Foundation grants support programs that are typically larger in scope and serve multiple regions or an entire state.)

Requests for corporate grants may be submitted throughout the year. Visit the company's website for online application information.

Grant Declination: Progress Energy Foundation

BDPA Triangle chapter and the BDPA Foundation learned that our joint grant request to the Progress Energy Foundation has been declined.

Dear Mr. Hicks:

Thank you for your interest in Progress Energy's grant programs. While we recognize the importance of BDPA Education And Technology Foundation to the community, we are unable to provide you with a grant. The focus of Progress Energy's K-12 education grants is primarily on energy education. Progress Energy receives many fine proposals each year that we are not able to fund due to very limited resources.

Although we can't offer support for your organization, we wish you much success with your fundraising efforts.

Jennifer Pittman
Contributions Specialist

We are grateful to Progress Energy Foundation for considering our request. We will continue to seek funding with BDPA Triangle chapter for their 2009 SITES program. Let us know if you are aware of any funding sources we should be seeking out in North Carolina.

Grant Proposal: Progress Energy Foundation

BDPA Triangle chapter and the BDPA Foundation combined for a $16,422 joint grant request to The Progress Energy Foundation.

We've asked this foundation to fund part of the 2009 Student IT Education & Scholarship (SITES) program taking place in Raleigh/Durham, NC.

The Progress Energy Foundation partners with nonprofits in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina to improve the lives of their customers. Programs funded by foundation grants are typically larger in scope and impact than corporate grants, serving multiple regions or the entire state. The Progress Energy Foundation invests over $7 million annually in the communities they serve.

Grants are limited to organizations that serve Progress Energy customers in Florida, North Carolina or South Carolina. (Click here for a list of counties served by Progress Energy.)
