Gregory Morrison * Career Achievement Epsilon Award Winner

Gregory Morrison, senior vice president and chief information officer, Cox Enterprises is the winner of the 2011 Epsilon Career Achievement Award presented by National BDPA and WorkplaceDiversity.com.

BDPA Epsilon Awards recognize individual achievement by technologists who are nominated by BDPA chapters or corporate sponsors.

Nominees for the Epsilon Career Achievement Award are individuals at or near the midpoint of their careers or beyond, but not close to retirement age, who have made significant achievements in technology or information technology in industry or government. The body of work of the nominee; its broad social and economic value and impact, and the nominee’s performance as a role model and mentor for people of color in technology are paramount in gaining career recognition.

Greg has had an extensive background, both domestic and internationally, in information systems. He is a conscientious, highly-skilled executive. His leadership, qualities and capability to develop and implement strategy are outstanding. Greg has an outstanding performance track record and is a dynamic leader who continues to exceed expectations.

Greg is responsible for all facets of the information systems and transaction processing requirements at the corporate level for Cox Enterprises. He is responsible for IT strategy development, the annual technology planning process, large-scale IT project management and governance, strategic vendor alliances, and leveraging business unit technology initiatives across the company.

Greg previously served as vice president of information systems at Prudential Financial, where he progressed through the ranks from 1989 to 2000. He left Prudential to become executive vice president and chief operating officer for RealEstate.com in early 2000. He rejoined the company in 2001 as vice president to help lead the due diligence and integration team for a $4B international acquisition.

BDPA Education and Technology Foundation joins all of BDPA-Nation in congratulating Greg Morrison on his 2011 Career Achievement Epsilon Award. There are many within BDPA who aspire to become CIOs in Corporate America. Greg is a worthy role model for all BDPA members.

I look forward to networking with Greg at the 33rd annual BDPA Technology Conference in Chicago. How about you?
