Top 10 BDPA Chapters (Membership, Jan 2012)

We are pleased to provide our first update on BDPA membership around the nation since October 2011.  It is critically important for BDPA to grow its membership in each of the 45 local BDPA chapters. The organization needs to continue to focus on delivering programs that advance the careers of African Americans in the IT industry.

Membership is the lifeblood of any organization. The 45 BDPA chapters in BDPA-nation average 27 members (up one from Oct 2011).

BDPA Chicago chapter remains the largest chapter in the nation for the 57th month in a row.  It is no wonder that the 255 members of the chapter decided to re-elect its president, Pamela Sexton, for another two years!

Stacy Stewart
BDPA Dallas chapter (president, Stacy Stewart) made the largest gains over the past quarter as it jumped ten slots to become the 7th largest chapter in the nation.  It is no wonder that BDPA Dallas chapter member Chad White has been appointed to serve for the next two years as the national vice-president of membership management.   I look forward to the fresh ideas and energy that Chad will bring to membership recruitment and retention over the coming weeks and months.

The top ten chapters in terms of membership as of January 2012 are:
  1. Chicago
  2. Atlanta
  3. Philadelphia (improved one place in the rankings since October)
  4. Cincinnati - (dropped one place)
  5. New York
  6. New Jersey (improved one place)
  7. Dallas (improved 10 places) * NEW *
  8. Los Angeles
  9. Charlotte
  10. Washington DC (dropped four places)
We now have two chapters -- BDPA Chicago and BDPA Atlanta -- are in the BDPA Century Club with at least 100 members.

Leave a comment if your chapter isn't listed above. We're happy to tell you where your BDPA chapter is ranked if you want. In the meantime, we would love to know what you think about membership in BDPA?
