Grant Declination: BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama

BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) partnered with BDPA Greater Birmingham chapter (president, LaDonna Crum) to submit an online grant application seeking $8,000 in funding from BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama.

We learned today that our grant proposal was declined.

Here is the declination letter received by the BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama:

Dear Mr. Hicks,

The Caring Foundation of BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama has reviewed your request for funding for the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation. We appreciate the good work of many non-profits such as yours, and we must make some difficult choices among the requests we receive. We regret to inform you that your request was not approved, as it does not appear to be within our Foundation's charitable focus at this time.

We wish you continued success in your continued work.

Sincerely,
Tim King, Manager
The Caring Foundation and Corporate Giving

BDPA Greater Birmingham has already identified other funding sources that they want to approach for funding of its 2015 SITES program. BETF encourages all 46 local BDPA chapters to aggressively partner with BETF on these grant proposals. In the meantime, shower your good thoughts on BDPA Greater Birmingham as they seek to raise $27,720 in the near-term!
