Did you know that Atlanta is a finalist
to host our 2008 BDPA Technology Conference?
Our chapter in Atlanta is building momentum for that process by offering outstanding monthly program meetings for those IT professionals who are interested in career advancement from the "Classroom to the Boardroom."
BDPA Atlanta is very excited to present a panel discussion with three senior IT executives entitled, 'Breaking the Glass Ceiling'. The panelists will engage in a dialogue about career mobility for talented IT professionals seeking to move into the boardroom. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 26, at The Macquarium Building in Atlanta, Georgia.
The panelists are:
- Ken Keller - Vice President, Enterprise Program Manager (SunTrust Bank)
- Alonzo Howell - Director, Revenue Management Systems (Delta Technology)
- Gary Donaldson - Vice President, Network Systems (Delta Technology)
One way that ITSMF and BDPA work together is through an Executive Protege' Program (EPP). In fact, we encourage any IT manager with executive aspiration or potential to consider participation in the EPP. Please click here if you want to receive more information on this remarkable program.
Members of ITSMF are senior IT executives from corporations, governmental bodies, and universities of well-established technology businesses. The panelists for the program meeting on September 26th will share the knowledge and skills that have enabled them to arrive and thrive in key management roles. If you are interested in learning what it is like to bust through the glass ceiling then this is a program meeting that you will want to attend.

It is good to see ITSMF members supporting BDPA chapters around the country. I've seen this type of collaboration in Atlanta and Cincinnati. Is it occuring in other parts of the nation as well?

The Panel Discussion with 3 members of ITSMF (Gary Donaldson, Alonzo Howell, & Art Hopkins) was outstanding! The new web design for ITMSF was projected on the theatre sized screen behind the presentors. The Q&A format of the meeting allowed the members & guests to dialog freely. The meeting ended at 8 p.m. and there was so much buzz & excitement in the room that the room did not empty out until 9 p.m.
Teresa (Atlanta Chapter prez) - I hope that other BDPA chapters take your idea and invite ITSMF members to serve as presenters or panel members at future program meetings. It is an excellent way to open up dialogue between these senior level executives and our 48 BDPA chapters around the country. Well done!
I see that John McCain is breaking the glass ceiling with his selection for a running mate. Any thoughts on Gov. Sarah Palin?
