Grant Recipient: BDPA Los Angeles ($5,141)

BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) works hard to raise money to support BDPA programs and services around the nation. One of the local chapters that works hand-in-glove with BETF over the past few years has been BDPA Los Angeles. This year is no exception.

That is why it feels good to announce that BETF approved a $5,141 funding request from BDPA Los Angeles chapter president John Malonson and chapter VP-Finance David Malonson. The Malonson brothers indicate that the funding will be used to provide airfare, lodging and registration for the chapter's national high school computer competition (HSCC) team.

BETF hopes that this funding will help propel the chapter's team to an outstanding performance in the 2011 National BDPA HSCC Championship being held later this summer in Chicago IL.   The chapter did a great job at the recently-concluded BDPA Midwest Regional HSCC Championship.

The chapter will also learn shortly how much of the $25,000 American Honda Foundation grant disbursement that they've won as a result of their Student Information Technology Education & Scholarship (SITES) program. The chapter trained the 2nd most students in its computer camp sessions over the past few months.  Anyhow, BETF will announce the final decision during the conference.

Congrats to BDPA Los Angeles chapter on this $5,141 grant funding!
