Message from Atlanta Chapter President

Felicia Jones
As we bring in the New Year, our focus is Building and Growing a Stronger BDPA.

Our primary goals in 2012:
  1. Obtain strength and influence by increasing membership base.
  2. Enhance funding to support our youth programs while expanding professional education and development programs for adult members.
  3. Define and communicate a compelling, clear and concise value proposition.
  4. Establish strategic partnerships that are mutually beneficial.
We have placed a very strong emphasis on providing career enhancing programs to our members and community while attracting and retaining members of the highest quality and integrity. We are committed to developing our members with technical skills, business savvy, and personal growth.

Over the next 90 days, we will launch several key initiatives and programs in accordance with our 2012 goals, they include:
  1. Monthly webinars (informational and educational)
  2. iPad2 contest
  3. Creation of a professional development support program (Success Alliance)
  4. Annual career fair
  5. Membership drive
Our monthly meetings and other social and community activities provide an excellent opportunity for our members to network with professionals from various corporations and organizations. This year, we will be expanding the number of social events to allow even more opportunities for networking.

We also established a 501c3 education foundation called Next Level Technology Foundation. It was established in 2011 to directly support the programs and services of BDPA Atlanta, which include the HSCC student program and educational and professional workshops for IT, professionals and the local community. It also provides a tax-deductible way for donors to contribute to our organization.

We are looking forward to expanding the BDPA Atlanta brand, growing our membership, and providing a value proposition to our members and stakeholders.

I invite you to join us and get involved with Building and Growing a Stronger BDPA!

Felicia Jones, president
BDPA Atlanta Chapter
